Many women choose to suffer in silence with a myriad of health issues. They range from anxiety, peri and menopausal issues, and even pesky discomfort in an array of areas of your body.

When we approach our wellness from a holistic approach, no component of it can be left unaddressed. I like to remind my concierge wellness clients our bodies are not an array of parts – our bodies are one whole part working together in a symphony of activities to make you who you are. As soon as you can take away the “I like my arms” conversation, you can start your journey to beginning to love all of you and your beautiful body.

As a community of women who seek optimal wellness, we band together to start the conversation about important health topics, even including those left inside your head. The topics would have made our mothers squirm in their chairs. Yet, together we can share in our community: We are women, all of us, seeking optimal wellness and this includes our sexual health.

Your sexual health is a part of your overall health. While most women don’t like talking about it with others, it is a health condition and, when left unaddressed, can lead to frustration, anxiety, disturbed sleep, relationship discord, and even depression.

There are certain components of our health that, if left “under the covers,” will leave us unhealthy.

The four topics we’ll discuss in our Zoom Event on Women’s Health Issues January 26 are:

  • Peri-menopause and depression
  • Lack of sleep
  • Sexual pain
  • Loss of sexual desire

Dr. James A. Simon will join me in an event where we can talk honestly about topics like these that may even be left out of your conversation with your OB/GYN. Dr. Simon and I share the passion for helping women overcome any barriers to living their “best life ever” and for helping women view their whole bodies, not just the parts. We must address these issues.

Struggling through perimenopause often comes with moodiness and anxiety. Countless women between the ages of 35 and 55 come to me – and Dr. Simon and other women’s health experts – with a variety of issues. There are many, yet the most common are:

  • Sleeplessness
  • Insomnia
  • Sudden panic attacks
  • Depression
  • Chronic anxiety
  • Moodiness

Not only are these draining on you and your lifestyle, they are serious health conditions that, when addressed with a Menopause Specialist, can help you get back to being you and living your best life. They are a wide variety of treatments. The first step is recognizing you need to seek help from an expert.

Chronically lacking quality sleep can not only hinder your fitness goals, it is down-right dangerous for your health. Our brains are wired for at least seven to seven and a half hours of sleep each night to recover from all we ask from them. Sleep wakefulness is at an all-time high with over 60 percent of American women awakening in the middle of the night at least once. This is not normal. This is not a good night’s sleep. This is a critical health condition.

Dr. Simon is a pioneer in the women’s sexual health arena and wants to share thoughtful reasons why suffering in silence about sexual health issues can lead to more struggle than necessary and can also be a serious health condition. He will discuss these topics – and provide discreet ways to remedy them.

It’s a new year. It is a perfect time to evaluate your health and wellness from a broader and holistic perspective, considering areas you perhaps haven’t previously considered.
